EWWR start in Canton Sarajevo
In the period from 19 - 27 November 2011, in Canton Sarajevo series of activities will be carried out, to mark the European Week for Waste Reduction. In this way, the Canton of Sarajevo joined the organizers (34) from 20 countries in which to organize this event. The main objective of this event is to promote and affect different groups in order to reduce waste. Given that the organization "Ekotim" one of the cornerstones of activities, I hereby invite you to visit our exhibition at the plateau in front of the BBI Center, 24 November period of 12 to 16 hours. Also this week, each day we will present some principles and actions to reduce waste.
"Hutovo blato" - natural area almost destroyed by fire
A unique natural area "Hutovo mud", protected as a nature park, is almost completely destroyed by fire, for 24 hours already spoiled the ending. What is the value of the area indicated by the fact that from 2001 on the list of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands and BirdLife International (IBA - Important Bird Areas).
Danube art master 2011 - winners
On the Earth day, 22.April 2011, Ekotim is announced a competition in creation art works on Danube river issue called Danube Art Master 2011. This competition happening every year since its established on international level. Winners on national level with their work represent our country on international competition and meeting of all winners which will be held in Budapest, in late September.
The competition is supported by the ICPDR (International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River), GWPCEE, Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, Forestry and Water Agencies for the Sava River Basin.
Biological camp "White Waters 2011"
In the period from 20.08. to 25.08. 2011 on mountain Bjelasnica, eco-biological camp was held. The operation of this camp was attended by students of the Faculty of Biology of the country and the region, and the goal was to contribute to biological research of this areas that are not seriously investigated since the time of the Austro-Hungarian administration in these areas, and which should be proclaimed as a National Park.
Cave on spring of Miljacka river is the longest in B&H
During the day, various media reported that it was finally completed research and proved that it is currently the longest cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the one from which springs the river Mokranjska Miljacka. At the camp during the weekend, organized by our colleagues from the Speleological Club "Atom" from Zavidovici, in cooperation with colleagues from the region are finally drawn enough passes and channels, which give the cave an official maximum length.
